Members of the local Decorators Union have jurisdiction over all set up and dismantling of exhibits including signs and laying of carpet. Exhibitors may set up their own exhibit display if one person can accomplish the task in less than one-half (1/2) hour without the use of tools. If exhibit preparation, installation, or dismantling requires more than one-half (1/2) hour, exhibitors must use union personnel supplied by the Official Decorating Contractor. When union labor is required, exhibitors may provide company personnel to work along with a union installer on a one-to-one basis.
Members of the local Teamsters Union have jurisdiction over the operation of all material handling equipment, all unloading and reloading, and handling of empty containers. Exhibitors may move materials that can be carried by hand, by one person in one trip, without the use of dollies, hand trucks, or other mechanical equipment.
Members of the IBEW have jurisdiction for hard wiring ordered outlets to the line side of exhibitors equipment and wiring of caps over 120 volts. All plugs over 120 volts will be plugged in by electrical union personnel. Exhibitors may plug in their own plugs of 120 volts to their ordered outlets. Other than that, electricians are only required for the inspection of electrical equipment.
